2010 MANIFESTO/Big News! – Blog#9
What up!
I strongly recommend and sincerely urge you to read this brief but extremely important post all the way since it represents my Current mind-state as of Jan 30 2010 (Manifesto Style!).
1- Thank you for taking the time to read this. It means the World to me!
2- If you have (rightfully so!) judged my character based on the content of my lyrics as of 2008, I kindly ask you to listen to what I have put out in 2009! This will give me the fair chance to show how I’ve moved closer to the truth and that I’ve evolved as a human being 1st and therefore as an MC. And of course it will give you some more good music HAHA! What I’m saying is: I Have said some IGNORANT things lyrically on record only to later find out that they can cause more harm than help my vision. But WAIT! Doesn’t it potentially hurt my sales when I admit that I have said ignorant things on my 1st album?? Maybe, but check this out: That’s not my priority anyway.
3- But hold on, your responsibility is to always question the content of my lyrics and Know that I can only do my best and continue having the best intentions. Your responsibility is to keep in mind that “Big A” (just like all your other favorite rappers) is a human being who is prone to right and wrong at any given time.
4- That left me with 2 choices, CHOICE A: Wait until I turn 40 years old (who can guarantee that anyway?) to put out my 1st song! After waiting that long I would accumulate the wisdom and knowledge to have lyrics that might have less ignorance and so let’s call that “ALBUM 40”. I chose this: CHOICE B: I put out “Conscious Gangsta” and eventually use it as a learning experience to seek a higher level of skill and consciousness in my following releases. Taking CHOICE B is very humbling in the sense that it will expose my relative ignorance and imperfections. BUT I guarantee that the upcoming project(s) will sound infinitely better than the concept of ALBUM 40 .
5- So yes I believe in continuing to put out imperfect albums as long as the progress/growth is obvious and the intentions are honest. This allows you to witness my growth and potentially be with me in a journey to get closer to God and the truth!
6- Last but not least, a Big shout out to the “961 Underground” Hip hop crew for welcoming “Big A” as the newest addition to what’s already been a collective of some of the best Hip hoppers in the world!
